Virtual Conference: After evaluating the current COVID-19 situation and associated travel restrictions, the conference will be held virtually on 17-19 December 2020 as the safety and well-being of all conference participants are of the highest priority. Accepted papers will be submitted for inclusion in IEEE Xplore Digital Library after they are presented at the virtual conference.
Big data is an emerging paradigm applied to datasets whose size is beyond the ability of commonly used software tools to capture, manage, and process the data within a tolerable elapsed time. Such datasets are often from various sources (Variety) yet unstructured such as social media, sensors, scientific applications, surveillance, video and image archives, internet texts and documents, internet search indexing, medical records, business transactions and web logs; and are of large size (Volume) with fast data in/out (Velocity). More importantly, big data has to be of high value (Value) and establish trust in it for business decision making (Veracity).
Cloud computing is positioning itself as an emerging platform for delivering information infrastructures and resources as IT services. Customers (enterprises or individuals) can provision and deploy Cloud services via pay-as-you-go pricing models saving huge capital investments in their own IT infrastructures.
The 10th IEEE International Conference on Big Data and Cloud Computing (BDCloud-2020) is the next event in a series of highly successful International Conferences, previously held as BDCloud-2019 (Xiamen, China), BDCloud-2018 (Australia), BDCloud-2017 (Italy), BDCloud-2016 (Atlanta, USA), BDCloud-2015 (Chengdu, China), BDCloud-2014 (Sydney, Australia), CGC-2013 (Karlsruhe, Germany), CGC-2012 (Xiangtan, China) and CGC-2011 (Australia).
BDCloud-2020 will be hosted in Exeter, the capital city of Devon and provides the county with a central base for education, medicine, religion, commerce and culture. The city is also home to the magnificent Exeter Cathedral, which dates back to Norman times. Exeter is also ideally placed to base a trip to branch out visiting places such as the famous Dartmoor National Park and the unspoilt beaches of the North and South Devon coastlines.
Prospective authors are invited to submit their papers to BDCloud-2020. All accepted papers are expected to be included in IEEE Xplore and will be indexed by Engineering Index (EI). The authors of selected best papers will be invited post conference to extend their contributions for special issues of prestigious journals to be planned in conjunction with the conference.
