Welcome Message

Virtual Conference: After evaluating the current COVID-19 situation and associated travel restrictions, the conference will be held virtually on 20-22 December 2021 as the safety and well-being of all conference participants are of the highest priority. Accepted papers will be submitted for inclusion in IEEE Xplore Digital Library after they are presented at the virtual conference.

The fast development of new computing and networking technologies is unleashing a broad set of innovative applications and a variety of industrial verticals, e.g., industry 4.0, healthcare and transportation. Big data from computing, networking and the application services are valuable assets for improving the Quality-of-Service (QoS) of computing and networking infrastructures and the Quality-of-Experience (QoE) of application services. How to effectively leverage big data in a smart way, incorporating computational intelligence in networks, edge/cloud computing and services, is a long-standing research question. It has received tremendous attention from both academia and industry, but still needs innovations to enable smarter computing, networking, and services.

SmartCNS aims to address the important problems and challenges caused by the network and computational complexity, ultra-high QoE demands, and diverse services. The conference provides a leading-edge forum to bring together scientists, researchers and engineers in different disciplines to share their experience and ideas and exchange their novel work regarding the state-of-the-art and in-progress research on all aspects of smart computing, networking and services.

SmartCNS-2021 is planned to be hosted in London, UK. However, if the COVID-19 situation and associated travel restrictions remain, the conference will be held virtually. It was previously held as SmartCNS-2019 (Shenyang, China, October 2019) SmartNEM-2018 (Exeter, UK, June 2018) WNM-2017 (Exeter, UK, June 2017), WNM-2016 (Sydney, Australia, December 2016), WNM-2015 (Liverpool, UK, October 2015), WNM-2014 (Dalian, China, August 2014), WNM-2013 (Melbourne, Australia, July 2013), WNM-2012 (Liverpool, UK, June 2012), WNM-2011 (Changsha, China, November 2011), and HMWN-2010 (Bradford, UK, June 2010).

All accepted papers will be submitted to IEEE Xplore and will be submitted for indexing by Engineering Index (EI). The authors of selected best papers will be invited post conference to extend their contributions for special issues of prestigious journals to be planned in conjunction with the conference.

Paper Submission Guideline

All papers need to be submitted electronically through the conference submission website ( https://hpcn.exeter.ac.uk/smartcns2021-submission/) with PDF format. The materials presented in the papers should not be published or under submission elsewhere. Each paper is limited to 8 pages (or 10 pages with over length charge) including figures and references using IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscripts style (two columns, single-spaced, 10 fonts).

Manuscript Templates for Conference Proceedings can be found at:
https://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html

Once accepted, the paper will be included into the conference proceedings published by Conference Publishing Services (submitted for indexing by EI). At least one of the authors of any accepted paper is requested to register the paper at the conference.
